Portstewart Golf Club – A popular inclusion on golf trips to Ireland

Portstewart Golf Club made up of an impressive 54 holes, has something to offer every caliber of player visiting Northern Ireland when on golf trips to Ireland.  Set on Ulster’s awe-inspiring Causeway Coast, Portstewart Golf Club is only 15 minutes drive from renowned Royal Portrush Golf Club and just 1 hour 20 minutes drive from Belfast.

The three courses (The Old, The Strand and The Riverside) vary significantly in length with the shorter Riverside and Old Courses and the longer Strand Course at 7004 yards. The Strand course being the only one of the 3 with a championship layout is the jewel in the Portstewart Golf Club crown. The Strand commences with what is considered to be one of the most sensational first holes playable on golf trips to Ireland.

The superb Strand course and the additional 36 holes available to play on the Riverside and the Old together with warm and friendly staff and members ensure Portstewart Golf Club is a must visit for any golfers travelling to Northern Ireland.

Thomas Dunne, Travel + Leisure Magazine
Portstewart’s best hole, the lengthy par-four first, is the same as ever. Playing downhill from a high tee overlooking both the beach and the town, this dogleg-right turns smoothly toward a green that sits in the sheltering embrace of the dunes. It remains one of the most rousing openers in golf.

Paige Ashby, Virginia, USA
Cannot imagine a more beautiful course! While places like Old Head and Royal Portrush grab all the headlines, this “sleeper” course is among the most beautiful in the world. Portstewart Golf Club is challenging, but fair, and not too steeply priced.
